To be honest, I have never been a huge basketball fan, but the phrase “March Madness” has taken on a whole new meaning to me this year. The next few weeks are going to be very busy and very exciting.
You will notice that the “Upcoming Webinars” tab is sadly empty at the moment. Unfortunately, my schedule will not accommodate any additional webinars in March. However, I am working on several for April, so please keep checking back. You can also click the “Follow” button on this page to get emails whenever this blog is updated.
So what am I doing this month? I am working on the creating the new WebJunction Montana. BTOP has sponsored a Montana WebJunction partnership. This is a very exciting new chapter in how Montana librarians and library staff can receive training. WebJunction offers informative articles and training outlining the efforts of libraries across the country to stay current and relevant. The webpage provides information in the form of articles, downloadable resources, and webinars. WebJunction also offers college level, on-line, self-paced courses. Montana will be able to register 347 people to take part in these courses for free. Please stay tuned to hear how you can become a member of WebJunction Montana, as full step-by-step instructions will be published in this blog closer to our launch date. You can anticipate the launch in April.
In addition to building a website, I will be traveling to Washington D.C. to attend the Computers in Libraries conference sponsored by Information Today, Inc. This very exciting conference offers all kinds of technology related workshops and speakers. I will be gathering lots of information to bring back to Montana and to share with you in future Webinars. If time allows for it, I hope to post some updates from the conference. Please check out my Twitter feed @MTLibraryNext for conference information.
April is shaping up to be a busy month as well. The Montana Library Association annual conference is scheduled for April 11-14 in beautiful Big Sky Montana. I will be found at our BTOP booth and presenting a couple of workshops. Please look for me and introduce yourself.
